Volakas, from which the stone takes its name, is a remote village on the eastern mountains in the Drama area of North Greece. Today the name Volakas has become almost generic for a whole range of white and semi-white types of marble which are extracted from these mountains. The white backround with light grey veining corresponds with nearly everyone's perception of the most beautiful marble and it is specified by architects and designers for many of the world's most important buildings. Volakas Marble can be used in Exterior, Interior, Flooring, Walls, fountains , Bathrooms and Kitchens.

Yes. Marble benchtops are highly durable, heat resistant, and add a timeless, elegant look to any kitchen. They can last for decades when properly cared for. Just keep in mind they're porous and require regular sealing to stay in top condition.
Marble is highly heat resistant, so you can place hot pots and pans on the surface without damaging it. That said, using trivets or heat pads is still recommended to protect the sealant and keep your benchtop looking its best over time
Clean marble with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral detergent — avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the stone. Reseal the surface regularly (about once a year), use a cutting board when preparing food, and wipe up spills quickly to keep your benchtop looking beautiful for years.
Marble is one of the more premium benchtop materials, so it typically sits at the higher end of the price range. The final cost depends on the type of marble, slab size, thickness, and installation labour. If you love the look of marble but want a more budget-friendly option, our porcelain tiles and clearance stock are well worth a look.
